Salary: $37.63 per hr

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. One year of Augo and/or Diesel Schooling or two years of work experience as a Mechanic
  3. Hold a valid CDL with School Bus and passenger endorsements, or be able to obtain one within 6 months of hire date.
  4. Valid Driver’s license
  5. Have or can obtain background clearance with WSP and FB
  6. Demonstrated use of technology including computers and software applications.
  7. Meet all Federal and State drug and alcohol CDL holder regulations
  8. Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License with class endorsement, air brake restriction removed, passenger endorsement, plus School Bus endorsement.
  9. Possess or obtain Air Brake and Air Brake inspector certification card, (49CFR396.25).
  10. ASE Master Certification/or journeyman status preferred.
  11. Able to obtain forklift certification.Able to obtain First Aid & CPR/AED certifications

Maintains records of repairs, cost, warranties, etc. for the purpose of documenting required information to meet district, state, and federal requirements:

 

 

Assesses incidents, complaints, accidents and / or potential emergency situations for the purpose of resolving or recommending a resolution to the situation:

 

Fabricates parts for the purpose of providing items necessary for repairs:

 

Performs minor body and upholstery work:

 

Steam cleans vehicles, ensures vehicles are kept to cleanliness standards:

 

Repairs vehicle system and components and replaces defective parts for the purpose of ensuring the availability of vehicles in a safe operating condition:

 

Inspects vehicles and implements preventative maintenance to ensure that the vehicle is in a safe operating condition:

 

Diagnoses potential vehicle malfunctions for the purpose of determining needed vehicle repairs or replacement:

 

Maintains safe work practices, tools, equipment, and work area for the purpose of improving productivity and reducing hazards to staff:

 

Assists other personnel as needed for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities:

 

Communicates and interacts with other staff:

Positive interaction with all staff.

Communicates effectively with director of transportation, lead, office staff, drivers, and other mechanics.

Coordinates with dispatch on availability of transportation vehicles.
