Salary:      Depends on Experience – Based on District Certificated Salary Scale

Qualifications:                     

  1. Valid degree from an accredited college or university
  2. Current Washington State Teaching Certificate with Music Endorsement
  3. Have or can obtain clearance from Washington State Patrol and FBI background check
  4. Experience in teaching multiple instruments
  5. Experience in organizing and directing musical performances         

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Three to five years teaching experience in appropriate area
  2. Proficiency in using technology for music instruction

Knowledge and Abilities: 

  1. Demonstrate effective instruction and engaged learning. Acquire and record quality evidence of learning

  2. Demonstrate organizational skills and computer skills necessary for supporting instruction.

  3. Must understand and maintain confidentiality.

  4. Demonstrate constructive and effective communication skills and work effectively with students, parents and cohort.

  5. Creative and caring with commitment to education for all students.

  6. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.

Essential Job Functions:  

  1. Teach students to play musical instruments. 
  2. Instruct students in music theory and history. 
  3. Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. 
  4. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and communicate objectives to students. 
  5. Maintain accurate, complete and correct records
  6. Maintain a positive attitude, good work ethic, and demonstrate promptness in work arrival and in accomplishing all tasks. 
  7. Perform other necessary and reasonable duties as assigned.
